Hey guys!!

I have scheduled a few trips for the next couple of months, and I wanted to open them up to anyone in those areas who might be in need of some photography services!

Houston, TX - April 25-28
This weekend is already pretty packed, with two engagement sessions, two bridal sessions, and (hopefully) a Fearless Bridal. However, if anyone in Houston needs to meet with me or schedule a shoot with me, let me know now so I can fit you into the schedule!

Vail, CO - May 2-5
I will be visiting my former roommate and AMAZING woman Juls, and I would love to do an epic bridal session up in the mountains. If anyone lives near Vail, has a wedding gown, and is free that weekend, shoot me an email with your name, e-mail address, and a photo of yourself and your dress. I’ll give you a free session and a large print as a thank you for helping me out! Or, if you are a Colorado photographer and want to help out, let me know as well :) Fair warning, I may send you out to scout locations for me!

NYC - May 28-June 2
I will be shooting a destination engagement session up in NYC, and I reeeeeeally want to shoot a Fearless Bridal session while I am up there. If anyone is up for the task, let me know :)

This year is going to be amazing, I can’t wait to show you all the cool photos!

While Jason and I were in Georgetown for Abby & Adam’s wedding, we also stopped into nearby Round Rock, TX to see Jason’s sister Megan! Although I have met the rest of Jason’s family, I had not yet met Megan, even though Jason talks about her ALL the time, so I was very excited to meet this girl I had heard so much about! Like a true Gulledge, Megan was everything I expected her to be.. kind, funny, sassy, and extremely attractive! I just couldn’t resist dragging her and her fiancee Josh around Round Rock for a quick engagement session. Here are a few of my faves!

Although Megan and Josh wanted to head to beautiful Lake Travis for photos, time constraints kept us in town. Luckily we were able to find this cool, historic downtown shopping area that worked out even better!

I just love parking lots! Surprisingly enough they make great backgrounds :)

Aren’t they so cute together?

This one is probably my favorite shot of the day.. These two are sexy!!!

You know how I am with benches..

As we were driving to the downtown area, I saw this cool bright blue building that I HAD to shoot at! I LOVE colorful walls!

More fun in parking lots….

This shot was totally Megan’s idea.. I love it!!

Megan and Josh really wanted some photos with a lot of trees and flowers in them, so when we drove past this historic old home surrounded by gorgeous plantlife, we had to stop and beg the owners to let us pose for a few minutes!

A super hot photo out by the pond

And finally, I love repeating backgrounds! And couples in love, of course :)

Thank you so much Megan and Josh for the hospitality, entertainment, great food, and opening your home to us! Come visit anytime - and don’t forget to bring Roxy!!

Mom, if you are reading this.. Just stop now.. Trust me on this one.

So, last week, Jason officially left me for a younger, prettier woman, who I’ll call…. Lucille. Lucille is everything I could never be.. Smooth, edgy, fast.. I just can’t compete with that! It was devastating to me, naturally, but lucky Lucille agreed to let me keep Jason when she is too tired to entertain him. Even I have to admit that Lucille is so cool and beautiful, so I asked if I could go out and do a photo session with her. Here is a picture of the hussy that stole my boyfriend:

TROLLOP!!!

Okay fine, so it’s not technically a woman, per se, but she totally did steal my boyfriend.

Jason has been talking about wanting a bike since I have known him, and now that he finally has a house with a garage, he decided to pull the trigger and buy himself a Harley Sportster 1200N (aka “nightster”). Although I must admit it is kind of cool, the stress of worrying about him while he is riding is taking years off my life. Sigh.. I am trying to be the understanding, supportive girlfriend who only wants what makes her darling happy.

When he bought the bike, he got to ring this big bell so everyone in the store would know that the HOG (Harley Owners Group) had a new family member.

Here is is showing off his new ladyfriend and his new gear.

And a few of the details..

If any of you have boys with bikes, please reassure me that the terror goes away after awhile :(

Last Friday I got a chance to attend the single greatest concert of my life thus far.. The Hotel Cafe Tour!  Featuring…

hotelcafe.jpg

Cary Brothers, Ingrid Michaelson, Greg Laswell, Sara Bareilles, and Joshua Radin!!  Five of the most amazing, talented artists in the music industry.  I would have been perfectly happy to see any ONE of these guys perform, but to be able to experience them all in one night was more than I could have hoped for.  Although I didn’t get to hear my favorite song of any of these artists - Radin’s Sundrenched World  - I did get to hear a ton of my other favorites, including Love Song, Bottle It Up, Fairytale, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Way I Am, Breakable, Gravity (which I bawled like a baby all the way through) and so many others.

The highlight of the night was Ingrid Michaelson’s encore, where she played random TV theme show songs as suggested by the audience, including Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Happy Days, Golden Girls, and the Facts of Life.

I’ll leave you with a clip of the last song of the night.. It was a really special moment, with everyone singing along and Ingrid harmonizing with the audience.  If the concert comes to a city near you, be sure to grab some tickets, if you still can - you won’t regret it!

Thanks also to the glorious and talented Jason Huang for having dinner with me beforehand! He will also be helping me out with Drew & Sarah’s wedding in a couple of weeks, so be sure to stay tuned for the photos!

Now that Jacqi is finally married, we are so excited to be able to show off her bridals at the stunning Four Seasons Hotel. Enjoy these, and stay tuned soon for the wedding slideshow!

Check out the arms on this girl! She is an Ironman athlete, and it DEFINITELY shows. Hot!!

Something a little more traditional.

I love the soft, dreamy color palette of this photo. Plus it shows off her flawless skin!

Gotta show off that dress - she looked amazing in it. All that Ironman training paid off!

Isn’t she stunning? I just love the warmth of this photo.

We pretty much got kicked out of the Spa for this shot. Totally worth it!

I’m a sucker for archways…

And finally, one last shot we got from the balcony of her room.. This was shot through an extremely dirty, one inch thick pane of glass. Not bad, eh?

Their wedding was so beautiful and classy, and extremely personalized. I want to tell you more, but you’ll just have to wait!

More updates on what I am doing around the world, courtesy of Google Alerts!
(if you have no idea what I am talking about, check out this post)

Apparently I found a rat in my toilet! Yuck!! And my husband Mike is not very happy about it…

I am also doing my duties on the Wesley Medical Center Advisory Board and “Going Red for Women”!!

In other life updates… I got my hair did. Despite what SOME PEOPLE (Jason) might say, I am indeed a natural blonde.. It just requires a bit of work to keep the natural color looking it’s brightest ;)

It completely blizzarded here last week. Sallie Mae got her first taste of SNOW!!
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPq4I92Be6Y]

Here is our house, mid-blizzard… If you were watching the webcam, you got to see me and Sallie running around in the street enjoying the weather!! If you missed it, you can still see it on the highlights on my webcast channel at www.justin.tv/stacyreeves

I am sorry I have been behind on blog posts lately.. Now that wedding season is in full swing, I am crazy busy all the time. I am going to try to set up several blog posts that will auto-publish, so that you guys will have some stuff to read while I am editing like a mad woman. Stay tuned!!

While I was in Houston for Alex & Nick’s wedding, I also had the opportunity to shoot an engagement session for her lovely cousin Angela. Angela and her fiance Zach are getting married in Prague later this year - talk about a destination wedding! When they mentioned shooting their engagement photos at their new home, I was really excited about the challenge of shooting somewhere new. Little did I know it wouldn’t be a challenge at all.. They have the coolest house EVER!

First, and most importantly.. We had to preserve this special honor ;)

The light outside was amazing, so we had to play around a bit!

Now onto the inside of the house… These guys had killer lighting all throughout the house.. I just love these spotlights in their living room!

Check out this front entry! What you can’t see are the three flat screen TVs embedded in the wall, Angela’s own drawings hanging on the wall, and the Pac Man arcade game. Angela and Zach do not play around when it comes to entertaining!

A quick kiss in the front doorway.. Not a bad way to welcome your spouse-to-be when they come home!

Playing with their two hilarious pups, Guster (like the band) and Dexter (like the show).

Love love love the window light all throughout their home.. Perfect for special moments like this one.

Next it was off to the Galleria waterfall for some more outdoor shots. It was almost Leap Day so I had to get them jumping!

And walking!

Angela showing off her fiesty side (literally and metaphorically)

And finally, a soft moment with a little experimental texture

I can’t wait for Angela’s bridals.. It’s obvious from their house that these two have style in spades, so I’m sure her dress is going to be to die for!

Have you ever had people that you never met, but you had so many mutual friends and activities that you felt like you knew them really well? That’s how Nick and Alex were to me. Nick is a local hero at A&M for his role in organizing the Red, White, & Blue Out that ended up raising thousands for those hurt in the 9-11 attacks, and Alex is one of those girls that every female wants to be, and every male wants to be with. She is beautiful, funny, and incredibly sweet. I had heard so much about both of them from our many, many mutual friends, and when they hired me to shoot their wedding, it felt like we were old friends the very first time we met. Plus, I knew about half the guests at their reception, so it like an old college reunion!

A few shots of the girls getting ready… Alex will have to get a new makeup bag now that she is ANL!

The beautiful dress which was perfect for her

Light and veils, the perfect combination!

See what I mean? STUNNING.

Alex having a few moments with her girls before the big ceremony!

I just love these shots of her father seeing her dressed up for the first time. Alex was a bit of a crybaby that day ;) It was adorable though, and I have to admit, she got me choked up once or twice myself.

A neat shot of Alex with her bridesmaids

I think I may have gone a little overboard with the ring shots…

The handsome groom getting prepped! Thanks so much to Collins Metu for shooting with me and covering the groom’s photos - SUPER talented photographer and a great guy to boot!

Love this shot of the guys hanging out by the pool

Nick holding on to the ring before the ceremony.. Don’t lose it!

Okay seriously, I have seen some gorgeous weddings in my day, but the decor for this one was one of the BEST I have ever seen. HUUUUUUUUUGE props to Mike Vidrio at Darryl Murchison Design Co. - they did an incredible job turning an ordinary banquet room into a white, heavenly, candlelit dream. I couldn’t believe the transformation! If you are getting married in or near Houston, you should seriously give them a call, they are the absolute BEST!! Be sure to ask for Mike, he does stellar work!

A couple ceremony shots.. You would never know it by looking at these photos, but the room was SUPER dark - the only lighting was a few spotlights on the drapes and a TON of candles. Thank goodness for fast lenses :)

Love this little detail.. I told you guys, I am a sucker for hands!!

Neither Alex or Nick were really into doing boring group formals, so we tried to jazz it up a bit!

Trying something a little different…

Holy cow - these guys get air!! Check out the girl on the right - now that is one dedicated bridesmaid!

Since I normally do photos outside with the wedding party (which was impossible due to the late ceremony), I really had to think out of the box for this wedding. How’s this for out of the box?

Light and veils.. I LOVE IT

I don’t know what it is about this one that I love so much.. but I do! It reminds me of American Gothic a little bit..

The lovely cake that Alex emulated from Martha Stewart.. Love those cake toppers!!

A sweet shot of the first dance.. I love this moment of their hands clasped, him whispering into her ear, lost in their own world…

Look at that smile.. These two are way too cute together!

Still lost in the moment, even with wedding guests flooding onto the dance floor to join them. I think this one is my favorite of the day :)

Alex and her dad sharing a quick kiss during their Father Daughter dance

You know how I love my Aggies -WHOOP!

Another of my favorites, and one of the last photos I took that night.. Alex & Nick’s brother (Not Nick.. Whoops! Thanks for the clarification Alex - haha!) standing outside the reception hall, bonding as new siblings. Classic.

There were SO many amazing images from this wedding, it was absolute torture to cut them down.. If you want to see more, check out their album design here: http://www.mist.com/albums/Alex-Nick

I also want to give a big shout out to Hillary Smith at the Hotel Derek. The Derek is hands down the most unique hotel I have stayed at in the state of Texas, and it is super photogenic.. Seriously, did you SEE Alex’s bridals? If you need a location for your Houston wedding, definitely check them out, I have nothing but good things to say about them (and I’m sure Alex & Nick feel the same way!).

Have you ever wondered what exactly a photographer does after the photoshoot? Are you an aspiring photographer and trying to learn more about Lightroom, Photoshop, or album design? Or are you just really bored? ;)

I have the perfect solution! I have decided to start up a webcam that I will run while I am working. I will describe the processes I go through once I come home from a session, including culling, editing, retouching, and presentation to the client. There is also a chat room, so you can ask me questions about what I am doing it while I do it. It’s actually a pretty cool experience!

I have been test-driving it over the weekend with some friends, and the results were surprisingly good, so I am opening it up to everyone. Typically I work during the day from about 8:30-12 and 2-6, and occasionally nights and weekends. I know that is usually working hours for most people, but if you work at a really understanding business, maybe they will let you listen in while you work. :)

The address for the channel is www.justin.tv/stacyreeves and although you do not have to be a member to see the webcast, I strongly recommend registering. Once you register you can set the channel as a “Favorite” and then it will send you an email any time I start broadcasting. That way you don’t have to guess when I will be on next.

I plan to do a broadcast tonight where I will get some images blog-ready, which is when I do all the cool, special effects. Hopefully that will start around 4:30 or 5. See you then!
