If you caught the news last night or this morning, you might have seen some familiar images! Channel 5 News did a segment on Trash the Dress sessions, and I was very honored to have some of my work featured in the story. Trash the Dress sessions are portrait sessions done after the wedding in your dress where we go to a really cool or unique location and take some really fun, creative images that we couldn’t get before the wedding or on the wedding day. Many brides choose to go to rustic old barns, abandoned warehouses, or jump in a lake or river. I prefer to call these “Fearless Bridals” because destroying the dress isn’t the point of the session, and in fact in most cases the dress can easily be restored to perfect condition with a simple professional cleaning. The idea is that you spend thousands of dollars on this gorgeous dress, and you should get as much wear and fun out of it as you can. Many brides choose to bring their grooms along and turn it into a Day After session so they can get some unique, sexy images of themselves together. If you’re interested in doing a Fearless Bridal or Day After session, shoot me an e-mail and we’ll set something up!
Here are some of the images featured in the story:

The story also featured two of my amazing colleagues and friends, Lynn Michelle and Jason Huang of Table4 Weddings. To watch the segment or read the story, click here!
You know your clients love you when they let you do THIS to them :)

When Alex mentioned to me she might be interested in doing a Fearless Bridal session, you better believe I JUMPED at the chance! I have been wanting to do one for so long, but Southern brides are not so easy to convince. Since I had to come down to Houston for a weekend to get some sessions done anyway, I decided to stay an extra day and take the new Mrs. Luton down to the Kemah boardwalk for one more day of fun in her beautiful wedding gown. We even convinced Nick to join us!

Thanks to Alex (and High Fashion Fabrics) I managed to cross one thing off my Wish List – a birdcage veil!!

Then it was time to hop in the water! The sun was setting and the tide was rising very quickly, so for Alex’s safety we didn’t stay in the water too long. This girl was a trooper! The water was smelly and gross and there were all sorts of strange creatures floating around, but like a true supermodel, she just worked it!

Love love looooooove this one! My new favorite shot of Alex :)

Then we had a little fun with car headlights.. A bit dangerous, but so worth it!

One last shot before our very cold, wet, smelly ride home ;)

If you’re interested in doing a Fearless Bridal session, let me know! Basically it’s just like a bridal session, except we go somewhere a little more edgy and urban, and we can do all sort of fun poses with you without worrying about getting the dress dirty. If you want to do a session but you don’t want to totally ruin your dress, don’t worry, we can do that! Most of the time, the dress is good as new after a nice professional cleaning. You paid all that money for your dress and you look HOT in it – shouldn’t you get the most out of it?
A Day After session is very similar to a Fearless Bridal session, except we bring your new husband along for the fun! He doesn’t have to rent a tux again – he can follow Nick’s example above and just stick with some nice khaki slacks and a loose white button-up shirt for a more casual feel. This is a great chance to get some gorgeous romantic shots of the two of you, especially if you weren’t able to get them on your wedding day for whatever reason.
Alex and Nick, thanks so much for spending the night with me and posing for some more photos. You’re both way too hot for your own good, you can pose for me anytime! Tell little Stormy I said hi! :)
- Stacy, those are beautiful!
- hi Stacy! i stumbled on your images on flickr and found your blog. i just had to say you totally rock and i love what you did with this session. i'm going to mark you as a friend, even though you're an aggie. i'm a baylor bear. ;-) but i think there's room enough for both of us. i'm "super" (as you say) happy to have found you. I find you are "super" inspirational and i'll be back again and again. thanks for sharing your work! work it, girl!!
- Stacy! These are way too cool. Can't wait to see the rest!! Thank you SO much for the opportunity!!
- stacy, these rock! can't wait to meet you in june!!
- These are GORGEOUS Stacy!!
- those are fabulous! I can't believe she sat in the water with her dress- what a daring bride. love it!
- Wow. Those images are STUNNING!!!
Kat Forsyth - Congrats on being featured! Your photos are fab, as always. Ignore those idiots who are so against the TTD trend and blaming you for taking pay for it! I've done one TTD; the dress barely even got dirty, and I plan to do one in my own dress (which I love) in the water, which won't kill it either. It's a such a fun thing to do! Carry on doing it!
Scott Becker - Fantastic images and well done on being featured!
Lynn Michelle - Awww, thanks for sharing the love :) I had no idea that those gorgeous images were yours until I saw the links online! Maybe we can trash a bride together, it would be like super powers uniting!
Erica Velasco - Very cool! Love water ones...I so want to have a bride sign up for that!
