Alexis & Charlie’s Fort Worth Wedding

Weddings
November 18th, 2010

Alexis and Charlie’s wedding was one of those good old fashioned Southern weddings that just makes you feel right at home.  Friendly people, a beautiful church, a couple that’s madly in love, good food (BBQ, if I remember correctly), cold beers, a Texas country band, dancing late into the night, and a classic, relaxed elegance that you see so often in  Southern brides.  Oh, and a little Aggie War Hymn, naturally.  There’s nothing pretentious or stuck-up about Alexis and Charlie – they are two of the warmest, friendliest people you’ll ever meet and their wedding reflected that sense of open arms and joyfulness.  I had such a blast photographing their wedding in downtown Fort Worth!  Here are some of my favorite wedding photographs from their day:

Abby - Beautiful and classy photography as always. I love this wedding and the bride is beautiful!! My favorite photos are the veil across the groomsman and the poor neglected garter on the ground. :-)

Jaimie Dee - Atlanta Wedding Photographer - BEAUTIFUL work! As always. Sigh. I love your style! :)

Joshua Gull - Too much awesomeness to comment on Stacy, but that shot of the garter cracked me up! LOL Great work.

Paige and Uy at the Fort Worth Japanese Gardens

Day After
August 12th, 2010

I do Day After sessions all the time, but I can honestly say this is the first time I’ve done one BEFORE the wedding! Paige and Uy wanted to have a large canvas of themselves in their wedding attire to display at their reception, so we met at the Japanese Gardens in Fort Worth to get a few quick shots of them together. The Japanese Garden is one of my favorite places to shoot, everywhere you turn there’s a new and even more beautiful spot. Here are some of my favorites:

Kim - LOVEEEEE the bridge one. The detail of her veil on the rail make my heart go "pitter-patter"

Nessa K - That bridge, the location, the green, the beautiful couple... these are amazing. Killer job!

Ben Godkin - Beautiful session! Not every day you get to photograph a bride and groom in full attire before the wedding... great job!

Larissa - I second Kim. All the pictures are gorgeous as aways, but the bridge with the willow in the background is just perfect.

Asha Carlos - Love how the green pops out of each photo, my fav shot has to be the one with the couple on the bridge, so picturesque!

Andi Diamond - Love looking at your work, Stacy. So beautiful!

Amanda Weaver - I was looking through your website after looking at a session you did for a co-worker, Garrett, from Jamie and Garrett's engagement photos. Love you work! I was reading the FAQ section and realized our line of thinking is very similar! I often look through magazines and online for ideas, especially before a shoot. I shoot with a Canon 7D. But I have not experimented yet with an off camera flash. The trouble I have is that I have great ideas before a session and I'm thinking of all the poses I want to do and arrangements, possible backgrounds, ect. But then when I actually get to the session my mind goes blank!! It's the scariest feeling! I'm like "where did all of those great ideas go, I need them to come back!!". I have managed to get through them and come up with a few good poses, but recently I've left the session feeling very uneasy and just hoping I got enough to not ruin a reputation I'm just trying to build. I hope that feeling gets better and goes away with experience to where I feel very confident everytime. anyway- just wanted to say a few words and that I love your work!

Courtney & Brian’s Fort Worth Wedding

Weddings
August 27th, 2009

It seems like forever since I photographed this wedding, which is both a blessing and a curse. I’m bummed at being so behind on blogging, but I love getting to relive old weddings over and over again! Courtney and Brian’s wedding was a great one, they are two of the nicest people you will ever meet, and naturally their friends and family were equally wonderful to work with. The whole day was so laid back and enjoyable, yet it was still an incredibly stylish, modern wedding. Courtney’s dress is one of my all-time faves, and I just adore her bright, unique color scheme! Here are a few of my faves:

Courtney’s Fort Worth Bridals

Bridals
February 21st, 2009

Since Courtney is getting married TODAY I can finally show off her bridal session, which is totally one of my favorites ever. I know I know, I say that a LOT… It just seems like every shoot I do these days is my new favorite, up until the next one. That’s a good thing, right? But honestly, this was a really great session. We did most of the shoot at her father’s fire station (interestingly enough, not my first fire station bride) and the second half around some beautiful old buildings in downtown Fort Worth.  Courtney has such a fantastic model’s face and body structure, she looks like this perfect porcelain doll, so it was great to do some more fashion-inspired looks for her.  Here are a few of my faves!

Kristin Greenlee - Stacy, great work! I love some of the one light stuff. You're right has some of the most perfect structure! What fun you must have had shooting these, I know both her and her groom will be pleased (but I'm sure these are super special for the Daddy too!)

Sarah Neal - WOW! Is she a model?... she sure looks like she knows what she's doing! My favorite is the shallow focus on her eyes. Have fun at their wedding.

Holly - Stacy, this is a GREAT session. I love all of them. Awesome work!

ken kienow - omagah omagah omagah wow.

Sherry - Those are stunning! What a beautiful bride- she knows how to pose! Had a hard time picking a fav. but I love the one with fill flash and sun behind her a lot! Great Job!

ayesha - absolutely gorgeous bride. she worked that dress! love the fire station shots. beautiful pictures, as always...

Cherron - I can't wait to see the wedding if these are a taste of what is to come! Gorgeous work, Stacy.

Jonny - Wowsers... fantastic bridal session! one of my favorites in the last year at least... WONDERFUL work stacy.

Michelle Parks - Hi Stacey, As with all your work these are equisite! Your advice is always cherished! Do you have any workshops coming up that you will be attending or teaching? I live in Frisco also. Thank you

stacyreeves - Hi Michelle :) I don't really do workshops, in my experience they are usually a waste of time and money.. I do offer one-on-one consulting which is tailored specifically to the consultee. If you're interested, shoot me an e-mail!

Lynn - These are gorgeous. Well done!

Jenni and Cade’s Garden Wedding

Weddings
February 18th, 2009

I have been waiting forever to post these photos because I am so desperately in love with this wedding.. It was my last wedding of 2008, and definitely one of my favorites, especially because it was so unique. From the location to Jenni’s attire to the reception schedule, everything was just a little bit different. Jenni and Cade were both so easygoing, it was obvious that they cared much more about being with each other and spending time with their friends than adhering to the traditional wedding routine. It was definitely a laid back, intimate affair, and one of the most beautiful ceremonies I’ve ever had the privilege of shooting. The vast majority of my ceremonies are held in dark churches with strict photography rules that limit me to basically one perspective. It was such a breath of fresh air – literally! – to be able to shoot a sunny, outdoor wedding where I could be free to be more artistic and try different angles and perspectives. I wish more of my brides would consider this option for their wedding – it makes for some unbelievable photos!

Here are a few of my favorite images from their wedding day:

Jenni and Cade, thank you so much for allowing me to spend your wedding day with you. It truly was one of my favorite thus far, and you guys taught me a lot about how a small, relaxed, unique wedding can be just as meaningful and memorable as a big, traditional, no-holds-barred wedding. And thanks for being patient on the blog post, too! ;)

Also a huge shout out to the lovely and talented Gara for sending these two my way and for being her fabulous self!!

Laura E @ Southern Weddings - The bride has great style. I am lovin the short dress. Great shots of the couple and the cupcake tower. Thanks for sharing Stacy!

Kathie Seeley - Love the editing turning the background lights into hearts! Nice touch.

Jeremy Gilliam - You KILLED this wedding! Those bride pics at the beginning are RadTACULAR!

valentiART - How pretty!!!!!!!!!! Thanks you sharing!

Sarah Neal - Did you change the blurred background lights in the last pic to be hearts or was that just a fortunate accident?

stacyreeves - That was intentional.. I used a heart-shaped bokeh filter for a few images. A little cheesy, but I still like it :)

Sarah Neal - Obviously not an accident... I noticed the other blur shot. These are really great Stacy. I eagerly await all your blog posts... this one was as great as all the others!

Sarah Neal - really? well employed - I didn't know it existed!

kyle - I came to leave a comment to ask about the heart shaped bokeh, but everyone else beat me to it. Really cool effect, Stacy!

Allison Davis - Love the bride and groom portraits! Beautiful details! Just a great job with all of it. (I also enjoyed the heart-shaped bokeh).

Lynette J - I LOVE the botanical gardens!!! And you did an awesome job capturing a gorgeous wedding, the bride is really stunning. I love visiting your blog, you always have great posts!

lisa lacroix - lol @ the heart shaped bokeh. I have done this with my Christmas lights but never at a wedding. You killed this wedding, the simplicity of your processing combined with your steller composition constantly leave me amazed. I can't wait to hopefully meet you some day!

Erin and Adrian’s Ft. Worth Wedding

Weddings
December 2nd, 2008

I am so excited to finally be blogging this wedding! The second I met these two, all I could think was “Wow, they’re pretty!” so of course I was ecstatic to be able to get them in front of my camera. Not only are they beautiful, but they’re also very kind, fun people who obviously care a lot about their families and friends. The atmosphere all day long was very chill, which made for a very relaxing wedding day, and a very happy bride and groom! I also got to work with their fantastic wedding coordinator, Susan Strauss, who did an incredible job with the reception decor.  Here are some of my favorites from the wedding day:

Neat story about the one below.. The couple in the middle are the bride’s parents, and the people on the outside were the ringbearer and flower girl at their wedding! What a fun reunion! I got this funny shot while they were preparing for a photo.. I actually got quite a few funny shots of Erin’s mom that night, but I think this is the only one I am allowed to show. She is a fun lady – I can see where Erin gets it from!

Agnieszka - Stacy, these are beautiful! I love your work!

Deborah - This are so beautiful! I'm so glad to see you blogging again... I look so forward to them!!

kj - Great job Stacy! Keep up the good work!! kj

ken - DANG GIRL. Nice work. :)

Liz Saldana - I absolutely LOVE the pic where the guys are outside by brick walls. Excellent Shot!

Prentiss - Wow! Beautiful pictures Stacy. Your work is an inspiration. I love all the detail shots and the settings you chose for all of your group pictures. I also wanted to mention how much I appreciate your T4P posts. You don't know how much they help aspiring photographers like myself. I like picture #6 and my question is how do you expose for backlit photos? I also wanted to know if you used flash for the ceremony/reception? Exposure/flash photography is something I still struggle with so any feedback would be awesome =). BTW, am I crazy or is he a quadruplet?

Christan - Great pictures! I love the candid shot of the parents and their ring bearer and glower girl.

Kirsten - GORGEOUS wedding, GORGEOUSLY captured! Always impressive Stacy. I really love that candid moment with the brides parents and their ring bearer and flower girl.

Lynn - That is one good-looking couple! Wow. The groom must be a twin, I take it? The resemblance to his brother is striking. We shot a wedding last year with a groom who had an "identical" twin. Thankfully they weren't *that* identical. I would have had a problem keeping track of who was who at this wedding! Beautiful job as always!

Peter - Stunning ! ! !You obviously lve what you do and are very good at it ! ! TRULY INSPIRATIONAL.....
