Two redheads in love, soft golden sunset light, a fabulous coordinator, and vintage touches everywhere you turn. That’s just about my ideal Saturday evening.

This was a new tradition for me.. Marandah wrote her full maiden name on a piece of paper and presented it to her father before she walked down the aisle as a symbol of the last time she would write her single name. It was a really special touch and something I think all brides should do for their daddies!

I’m thrilled to finally be publishing these images, now that the feature has been revealed on Wedding Chicks! Holly and Shane’s wedding will forever be one of the most memorable things I’ve ever been a part of. When they told me they wanted to elope on a Thursday morning at a Houston ranch, I really had no clue what to expect. I know that the only people present would be them, myself, and the officiant, but other than that, I was clueless. Would she be wearing a dress? Would he be wearing a tux? Would there be dancing? Would they see each other before the ceremony? I arrived expecting nothing, and prepared to simply “go with the flow” (which is a crucial ability when you work in the wedding industry). What I discovered was an event that taught me what weddings are truly about – not the big fancy centerpieces, not the 20 piece band, and not even the room full of family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors – but about the love between a man and a woman, and the beginning of their lives together. I get a little emotional just thinking about it! Whenever I get caught up or stressed out with my own wedding planning, I just think back and remember this wedding, and I realize that as long as my beloved is there by my side (and the photographer, of course!), the rest is just details. Here are some of my favorites from their gorgeous intimate ceremony:

- How fun and different! Wonderful job as always!
- absolutely STUNNING!!!!!
- beautifully pure & simple, I love it!
- aww I LOVE this wedding Stacy so simple and beautiful!
- Love, love, love how you can just feel how intimate this ceremony was from the pictures. And really love that the groom was in the room with her while she got ready (so it seems!) Gorgeous!
- Wow! Amazing photos. You really captured the intimacy of this wedding. The closeness and oneness of just the two of them. Love it!
- What a cool wedding!!! Just you and the couple, awesome! Great work!
- I love your detail shots. You can see how talented you are when you capture so many unique pictures from such a "small" wedding. Same with the courthouse wedding.
- What a great elopement, very refreshing take on getting married... Oh and as always great, great images!!!!
- What a great elopement, very refreshing take on getting married.
- Your photos are always absolutely stunning! Beautiful work. You are so talented Stacy :)
- This is such a clean set of images. I love that I felt like I was there witnessing something intimate. Awesome, awesome job.
It seems like forever since I photographed this wedding, which is both a blessing and a curse. I’m bummed at being so behind on blogging, but I love getting to relive old weddings over and over again! Courtney and Brian’s wedding was a great one, they are two of the nicest people you will ever meet, and naturally their friends and family were equally wonderful to work with. The whole day was so laid back and enjoyable, yet it was still an incredibly stylish, modern wedding. Courtney’s dress is one of my all-time faves, and I just adore her bright, unique color scheme! Here are a few of my faves:

- Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I am loving that pop of orange!
- Love the pictures. They are beautiful as always.
- wow I love her dress as well! great photos!! :D
- These are beautiful!!!
- Love the orange flowers. Beautiful. Great photos Stacy!
- Stunning is an understatement! These are so great, amazing work :)
- Another one of your great works... just awesome!
- HA! That (empty) candy bar photo is priceless.
- Beautiful shots, I like the 5th one down, where Courtney is sitting down with the boys.
Wow it feels like forever since this wedding!! I am such a bad blogger these days :( The upside of that is that I get to relive these wonderful weddings all over again as I post them on the blog, and this was definitely a wedding I’d love to relive. You’d be hard-pressed to find nicer people than Carrie and Jim. They instantly put you at ease and treat you like an old friend, something that is evident from the number of friends and family they had with them on their wedding day. As is true with so many of my clients, they are really beautiful both on the inside and the out, and I love that I got to work with them! Couple that with the perfect weather we had that day, the grand and fabulous venues, lovely decor, and a wedding party that definitely knows how to have fun, and it was pretty much a perfect wedding. And of course I can’t forget little Ella, who is probably the cutest little girl I’ve ever met and loves being in front of the camera. Here are some of my favorite images from their wedding day!

- Insanely beautiful images, Stacy! Great work!
- These are all beautiful! I love the ring shot! So cute!
- That last shot is so great!
Carrie and Preston are two of those people who you can’t help but enjoy being around. They’re always smiling and laughing, the life of the party. You pretty much know that if these two are going to be there, you’re going to have a great time! I remember the first time I met Carrie and Preston, I immediately called my boyfriend and said “I can’t wait for this wedding, these guys are a blast!” Of course, it didn’t hurt that they were flying me out to NYC to shoot their engagement session, either!
I was also really excited about their wedding venue – a gorgeous Italian themed event hall with statues, fountains, arches, and beautiful greenery everywhere. I know Carrie was in love with the venue as well, so when she found out that they had gone bankrupt and had no money left to refund the deposits of the brides who had booked their weddings there, we were both devastated – and pretty angry, too! Preston, on the other hand, wasn’t too torn up about it.. because their replacement venue was Minute Maid Park, home of his beloved Astros! It all ended up for the best, the new venue was stunning and everyone had a fantastic night. Here are a few of my favorite images:

Check out all of these bridesmaids.. Carrie has some hot friends!! The really cool part about this wedding is that Stacy Bilnoski, another one of my brides, got married at the same church a couple of months later, and had most of the same bridesmaids, so I got to shoot all of these supermodels TWICE! We had a little down time before the ceremony so I got some fun, sexy shots of each girl individually.
One of my favorite aspects of Carrie’s wedding were the flowers.. She knew she wanted white flowers, so she asked each girl what their favorite flower was, and got them each a bouquet of their choice. It was so beautiful, and allowed the girls to get a bouquet they loved while still sticking to the wedding floral theme. I definitely recommend this!

This was one of the more difficult weddings I have shot in terms of formal photos. The wedding took place after sunset, and Carrie and Preston chose not to do a First Look, so we had to take most of the formal group photos at night. It isn’t the way I usually work, but it was actually kind of nice to be forced out of my routine and have to do something completely outside of my comfort zone. I adore this wedding party shot!

If you couldn’t tell from the size of their wedding party, Carrie and Preston’s wedding was a BIG affair, and Union Station at Minute Maid Park was perfect for them. The room was large enough to feel comfortable and spacious, but not so big that it overwhelmed the wedding. Carrie’s team did a wonderful job decorating it and making it feel cohesive and inviting.

Klockwork performed at the reception, and they were GREAT! They kept the party going strong all night.

- holy biggest-wedding-party-ever! awesome stuff though, Stacy.
- Awesome job... as always. ;)
- My mom is in love with the black collared dress with the lace around the waist. Would there be any way to find out where it is from?
- Stacy, just beautiful! You really caught all of the great moments of our special day! Thank you! And to Jenna, that is my mother-in-law... I will find out where she got the dress and get back to you :)
- Stacy, well as the father of the bride I can't be happier with how you captured this special day! You have tearing up again as I look at these great shots. And you are right about Carrie & Preston - they are a great couple and I think everyone will remember this wedding for a long time to come.
- Stacy, I love how you did the formal shot - it looks simply beautiful!
- Loving the details shots! The reception lighting is awesome!
- You rock!! Love the bridal party portraits :)
- Gorgeous wedding! Absolutely love the groomsmen shot along with the bridal party shot. Simply fantastic.
- Love love pics 1, 2 and 3... and that church large bridal party pose. You have inspired me for future large parties. Great work!
- In that one B&W pic the bride looks like Sarah Jessica Parker. It's in the 6th row down of pictures. Check it out!
It is so appropriate for Courtney and Marcus to be the very first wedding posted on this new blog. These two first contacted me over a year and a half ago, when I was going through another big change, and they have been with me through a great deal of changes in my business. It’s so fitting that they are beginning their new lives together at the same time that I am beginning my new life in my business!
Their wedding was held at an amazing venue in North Richland Hills called White Chapel Estates. Don’t be fooled by the terrible website, it’s beautiful! It’s definitely suited better to small, intimate weddings, but the soaring white vaulted ceilings and the surrounding forest is great for photos! Here’s some proof:
Courtney’s mom helping her get dressed in the bridal suite

I just love this photo.. Every time a bride gets into her dress, it’s such an ordeal.. It seems that with every bride, her best friends gather around her and carefully hold up the edges of her skirt as her mother and mother-in-law-to-be tuck everything into the right place, ties all the ties, hook all the hooks, and zip all the zips. Then everyone steps back and just stares in awe at how this girl that they have seen countless times in PJs and a ponytail has transformed into a gorgeous, elegant woman. I see it on an almost weekly basis, and it never gets any less special for me.

Courtney and her lovely bridesmaids!

A few more dramatic portraits. Since Courtney is going to school in Iowa, we never got to do a bridal session for her, so I tried to get some extra images of her alone. These are my two favorites!

And then it was time for Marcus.. See what I mean about the beautiful environment around White Chapel?

Marcus specifically asked for a “Resevoir Dogs” photo.. They even brought the sunglasses and cigarettes!

And a bit happier :) We can’t be serious and GQ ALL the time!

Finally it was time to get these two hitched! One really cool thing about White Chapel is that the bride comes out onto this balcony overlooking the chapel, then down a gorgeous spiral staircase to meet her father, who walks her down the aisle. Here is Courtney’s grand entrance, and the smile that Marcus just couldn’t wipe off his face all day!

Married!!

Then is was time for some fun with the wedding party!

And I finally got the lovebirds alone :)

I have been wanting to do a photo like this FOREVER, but I could never find a good white wall.. I’m so glad that I finally got to do this shot with this couple!

Courtney and Marcus’ wedding was as unique as they are.. Instead of just being announced, they were led in by Courtney’s relatives playing the bongo drums and belly dancing!

The first dance was held outside in the gazebo, which I loved because everyone got to gather around and watch, but the couple still had a bit of privacy and intimacy to be able to enjoy this special moment.

Then we moved inside for the Father/Daughter dance, which is always an emotional moment.

I love love LOVE this shot! Sometimes the bride and groom plan out little surprises for the garter toss, but you can clearly see that Courtney did NOT see this coming!!

The DJ at this wedding played a lot of “dance” songs like the Cupid Shuffle, Cha Cha Slide, Chicken Dance, Cotton-Eyed Joe, etc., which is usually a great thing because even though it may seem cheesy, it really gets guests out of their chairs and onto the dance floor. No matter how silly you feel doing it, you can’t help but have fun! However, he then proceeded to dust off an ancient classic.. The Macarena!! I think we all needed a little help remembering that one.. And possibly a little help forgetting it, too ;)

Unfortunately every party has to end, and these guys chose to leave in my favorite way – sparklers!

And last, but not least, my favorite part of any wedding.. The RINGS!!!

- Stacy, the blog looks awesome!! Isn't Jessica simply amazing? We're getting our new blog in the next week or two! Your blog has definitely convinced me that we made the right decision.
- Stacy your the best, Courtney and I have looked through all of the online proofs and are very excited with how they turned out. I think you're a class act, girl! Oh, had to comment on that image with the gal reclining and the chandalier is shimmering above her. That is a stellar image.
Kelly Simants - Gorgeous images, Stacy! It was a blast working with you and your team - you are so talented! Thanks for everything!

Annie Gatewood - If someone knows and would offer the designer and color of the bridesmaids dresses, I would really appreciate it! Planning a wedding for next Spring and I absolutely LOVE the color and texture of her bridesmaids dresses! Thanks!
Marandah - Sorry Annie, I got the bridesmaid dresses like 10 days before the were discontinued! But just in case any of this helps...they are Taupe, I got them from Bridal Designs in Southlake, Texas and the designer was Bill Levkoff. Good luck!
Kelly Beane - Your group shots are so fun and adorable! And your use of light is fabulous! Beautiful work!
Annie Gatewood - Thanks Marandah! That was the exact info I needed!!
