Every now and then I stumble across an old session that I never got around to blogging, and I get the chance to fall in love with the photos all over again. This is a perfect example of that – Ashley and Matt’s session was such a blast for me to shoot because these two are so relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera, and they pretty much can’t go more than 30 seconds without bursting into laughter with each other. They are, hands down, the most upbeat, joyful couple I’ve ever shot, and working with them was an absolute blessing. Looking through these photos I caught myself smiling and laughing with them – their happiness is infectious, even through photographs! Here are some of my favorite engagement photos from their Highland Park session:

I wish I could take credit for these next few photos, but the truth is, this is 100% Ashley and Matt. Often photographers ask me how I get my clients to look a certain way or do a certain thing (such as hopping in a creek wearing their Sunday best), and sometimes the truth is that I just have amazing (and hilarious) clients.

Pammie is pretty much your typical Southern belle bride – gorgeous, super sweet, very hospitable, with an adorable Southern accent – so I can’t tell you how bummed I am that I won’t be shooting their wedding, but I am glad that I got the chance to do an engagement portrait session for them at Lee Park and Arlington Hall in downtown Dallas. Here are some of my favorites:

- Beautiful pictures, I have know both Pammie and Kyle since they where little, you have truely captured them, your work it beautiful!!
- What a gorgeous couple! I love these shots :)
- The pictures are gorgeous! Pammie is a beautiful person inside and out. They are the best couple and I love them and wish them the best!

- Wow these are just stunning! Such elegance!
- beautiful! beautiful! beautiful! so classic, these photos have such a great feel to them.
- I do believe that this is my favorite engagement session ever. Beautiful pictures and a beautiful couple!
When I asked Jamie and Chase where they wanted to do their engagement session, their only request was that we include some railroad tracks. Considering that I live in one of the biggest train towns in the DFW area, that should have been an easy find, but surprisingly enough it’s not quite so easy to find the perfect tracks. We ended up wandering all around town, stopping at a great park and discovering the perfect train track spot in the middle of nowhere. The light was about as perfect as perfect gets, and these two are naturals in front of the camera. Here are some of my faves from their session:

- The light and sun are just to die for!! Great session Stacy!
- I'm never disappointed when I visit your blog Stacy - beautiful session!

- So pretty! and i love the railroad pics :)
- ohhhh man, the first two shots are SO magical! love love love.
Jamie and Garrett are now officially engaged, so I guess that means it’s about time to show off their engagement photo session! I’d never shot Discovery Green in downtown Houston before, but now I see why everyone raves about it – it’s absolutely gorgeous, and a great place to spend a warm, sunny day. Here are a few of my favorites:

- So cute! The shots in the water are adorable!!
- I live in the Houston area and love Discovery Green! I'm adoring the fountain pictures!
- LOOOOVE these!!!
It’s always odd to shoot the engagement session of someone you’ve never met… I can’t lie, there are a lot of questions that go through my mind as I drive to the shoot. Will they be supermodel gorgeous, or hideously deformed? Will they be outgoing and zany, or will they be shy and introverted? Will they be comfortable in front of the camera, or awkward and stiff? Will he be two feet taller than her, or the other way around? Although I can work with any couple, it’s still comforting to know what you’re getting yourself into a little earlier than, say, five seconds before you start shooting! Luckily, Kelly and Alma were quite the pleasant surprise. They’re so comfortable with each other, comfortable in front of the camera, fun to be around, totally photogenic, and just good people in general. Here are some of my favorites from their session at the fantastic (and HUGE) River Legacy Park in Arlington:

Deziree and Jon are getting married TODAY! I am happy to report that this is the only wedding I have ever shot that will occur in two different years. Deziree is the definition of impeccable taste and her fabulous coordinator Tara Wilson has developed a reputation in Dallas as the event expert for a very good reason, so I can only imagine how breathtaking their wedding this evening will be. I’m happy to be ending 2009 – the best year yet for yours truly – and ringing in 2010 – which is poised to be even better – with Deziree and Jon, and happy to be sharing their engagement session at Again & Again, a posh furniture resale shop in Dallas. Enjoy, and Happy New Year!

Julie and Colin are fun and beautiful and a blast to hang out with. Julie has a great sense of style, Colin has great taste in engagement rings, and together they’re pretty much ideal clients. I loved getting to explore new territory shooting with them in historic downtown Grapevine, checking out the wine bar where they hang out, and generally enjoying ourselves. Can’t wait to photograph their wedding next year in Odessa!
